Hello family,
I am super excited to announce that I will be publishing my first book Fall 2019. I came up with the idea to write a self empowerment book for little black girls a while ago. Over time I decided to expand on that idea and speak to both black girls as well as adult black women, who may still be facing a struggle, whether that be insecurity, depression, finance, love life, anything. I am able to write this book not only from the perspective of a black woman, but a black sister, friend, wife, and mother. As women we play a lot of roles and I know the combination of responsibilities and social influence can weigh heavy. I came to the idea of this book first with the understanding that too many of our little girls grow up insecure and bullied because of the color of their skin. I personally did not have that experience and wanted to tell these little girls from my eyes and mouth that they are beautiful.
But then I began to focus on how badly our women were suffering. We too were being plagued with police brutality, victims of depression, drug addiction, and self hate. We are so disconnected from each other, lacking sisterhood and unity. In my life I have an abundance of sisterhood and togetherness, but I wanted this for us all. My desire is to repair the self love so that we can have self respect, which will enable us to respect each other. We all have a struggle. Women and men, young and old. But as a woman I felt a duty and responsibility to shine some light on my sisters, make them think, expose them to who they truly are, present knowledge and talk to them, one sister to another. While still allowing our little black girls to understand who they are and see how we should love ourselves as well as each other, see how we should interact. I want to promote positive black female images and contribute my sense of self to the gallery of expression. There is never too much black love. Let's talk about the Black Queen Struggle.
